Why I decided to read it: I LOVE Sophie Kinsella. I treked into town when I could have gone home just to get this book. A bit late admittly but it was the only time I was free but anyways.
What is it about: At her hen do, loveable Poppy Wyatt manages to lose her engagement ring and her phone in one go, when she manages to find a phone in a bin she hangs onto it, as a method of communication if her ring should return, even though there are people who want the phone back. Hilarity and flirtation ensuses.
What is good about it: Sophie Kinsella always writes characters that I want to be besties with and Poppy is no exception. She makes situations which another writer could make sound silly and stupid, sound endearing and romantic. You’re rooting for Poppy to figure out what’s best for her and as much as you can kind of figure out what is going to happen in the end, the whole middle does make you guess your assumptions.
What is bad about it: Not much, of course the usual guess the eventual love intertest is an easy game but it doesn’t make the book any less fun to read. It may be an implausible premise but this is chick-lit people, not a Pulitzer Prize.
Overall: A warm lovely chunk of chick-lit that will make your heart melt. Another gem from Sophie Kinsella *****
